Wedding At Barnett Hill< Royal Guildford | Blog | Blackout > Last month I helped Tristan with his DJ’ing for a wedding afterparty. I met Tristan round his and his girlfriend Kate’s new apartment, which they had recently bought together. It is a great apartment in a nice little village near Godalming, right next door to a pub. I was hoping to get my own flat this year too, but after meeting with a mortgage advisor, it looks like I need to save a little bit more, and try to find a better-paid job. I’m almost within reach of getting my own place now. I helped Tristan load up his car with his DJ’ing equipment, and then we drove towards the venue. The venue for Tristan’s DJ’ing was at Barnett Hill, a conference centre. This is a huge mansion house near where I live in a village called Wonersh. They have lovely gardens and host a summer garden party, which I’ve been to twice before. The building is mainly used by businesses to hold conferences, but I imagine it might of been home to a rich family with servants a hundred years ago or more.
We parked in front of the house and I helped Tristan unload his car and carry the equipment inside.
The party was inside a dinning room. Some staff from the house cleared the chairs and tables away and we set up the equipment and lights. We were able to set up the DJ booth inside a fireplace, as it was quite large.
After it was all set up, we had a walk round some of the house and gardens whilst we were waiting for the wedding guests to finish their meal.
We went back inside the house and Tristan put on some music. The wedding guests then started to enter the room. Tristan was DJ’ing for a lady he works with, who was the bride. We saw her in her wedding dress and she looked really nice. We met the groom as well and they made a great couple. A variety of music was played as requested by the wedding guests. The music was popular songs from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, and some more modern ones too. I took song requests from some of the guests. Whenever I’ve helped Tristan with his DJ’ing at weddings and birthdays etc, there’s always some people who choose to have Village People’s YMCA and Grease Lightning from the Grease movie played. I would never have those songs played at my wedding, as they are so cheesy.
Once all of the dodgy song requests had been played, Tristan then put on some danceable music, and more people went on to the dance floor to dance. They were having a great time and it was fun watching them. Seeing other peoples weddings often bring me mixed feelings. I sometimes think to myself that I wish I had lots of relatives, friends, as well as someone to marry and settle with, like all these people do I see at these types of events. The music ended at 12am, and then they all left. We packed up all the DJ’ing equipment. I helped Tristan load up his car and then we left. Related ContentComments on Wedding At Barnett Hill |
