Memorabilia< Russian Romance | Blog | Bullseye > On the 22nd November, I travelled with my friend Tristan in his car to the Birmingham NEC, which was to see the Memorabilia event.
It’s a big event where you can meet famous film, TV, and sports stars to have you picture taken with them, or get signed pictures. They also promote new films, comics and TV series. There is a stage where guests can do talks, many stalls, and many more things to see. There are also many people in costume dressed up as anything from Star Wars characters, movie characters, sci-fi, to anime. I have been to Memorabilia before, which you can read about here. We had special tickets to let us in early, but many other people had these special tickets too. Tristan likes to get there early so he can book all his photo and autograph sessions with his favourite stars. This time he wanted to meet some American wrestlers to gain their autographs, and have his pictures taken with them. As we walked round the event we saw some unusual sights.
I saw some American female wrestlers who looked very hot. I did not know who they were, as I never watched American wrestling. I had my picture taken with the brunette one, but I didn’t pay her for anything. She was very friendly and chatty, and so was her blond friend. They invited us to join them on some wrestler boat cruise, which was happening during the summer of 2010.
We saw some Daleks from Doctor Who, and had our pictures taken by them. There was a TV news film crew filming a presenter talking near the Daleks.
When we went outside of the venue to get some food. I saw a scarecrow from the new series of Doctor Who. Some Imperial Stormtroopers pretended to shoot me, and had me kneeling down on the floor in front of them, with my hands behind my head.
When we walked past the stage area, I saw an American actress called Mary McDonnell talking to the audience. She played President Roslin in my favourite sci-fi TV series Battlestar Galactica.
Two Laurel and Hardy lookalikes were walking round. They sang a song. I also had my picture taken with them.
I also saw Darth Vader, a robot from Robot Wars, and Captain Jack Sparrow.
We watched some British wrestlers in a ring.
I bought a few things in the stalls, such as a book, and a toy cat as a gift for someone. We went home in the late afternoon, and stopped off at a service station for a meal. It was fun to see everything that we saw at the event. Related ContentComments on Memorabilia |
