The Return To The MOS As VIPs< Ten Pin Bowling With Amelie | Blog | Doctor Who Invasion 2008 Convention > On Friday 22nd February I went out with Tristan, his girlfriend Kate, Anne, Kirstin, and my pretty French friend Amelie to London. Tristan wanted to return to the Ministry of Sound nightclub as a VIP to watch and meet up with DJ Dave Pearce again. This DJ is very popular, and has his own slot on BBC Radio 1. That night DJ Dave Pearce was playing at the Ministry of Sound to promote his latest Delirium Volume 2 album. The album was a double CD of dance tunes mixed and arranged by the DJ.
So, I got dressed up for it. I put on a white designer shirt that had a flowery pattern printed in black, some black trousers and black shoes. It was quite cold outside, so I put on my long overcoat on, and a zip up jumper to keep me warm. I did not wear my winter clothes inside the club though! Dad gave me a lift to Guildford, as I could not take my car, due to the drinking that night. Once Dad had dropped me off in town, I went round Amelie's flat to pick her up from there, to walk her to Guildford train station with me. Amelie was dressed very nice, and looked quite hot, wearing a long red jumper made into a dress using a big belt, plus dark black tights and boots, with red lipstick, and make up on. Me and Amelie met Tristan, Kate, Anne and Kirstin inside the Guildford train station main entrance. I introduced Amelie to Tristan and his friends, as they had not met before. We then caught the train from there to Waterloo station. On the way there we chatted to each other, and Amelie had a big bag of wine gums, which we all ate and shared on the journey. Amelie had trouble understanding Tristan and his friends a little bit, as her English is not perfect. She has a very French accent, and pronounces things with a 'Zee', which is quite cute and sexy sounding. Our train arrived at Waterloo. Outside of Waterloo station we split into two groups and got in two taxis, to head towards the Elephant and Castle area of London, which is where the Ministry of Sound club is located. Amelie commented that London was great. 'Great' was one of her favourite and most used English words. She enjoyed the taxi ride seeing parts of London from the cab window, as she had not seen much of the city before. We got out of the taxis and headed towards the entrance of the Ministry of Sound. There were quite a few doormen and security. As we were VIP's we had special treatment and were led in the club and upstairs to the VIP section. Once we were inside the VIP section Amelie and some of Tristan's friends who had not been in there before were very impressed with the place. Amelie had never been into a London club before, and she loved it. We sat at our reserved table and our hostess put on our VIP wrist bands, took our coats, and brought us out the drinks menu. The hostess lady was very pretty, Eastern European with blonde hair. We asked her to take a group picture of us all sat together at our table, and she did. I wish she was not working there, as I would have asked her to sit with me at the table! During the night we ordered a few bottles of champagne, a bottle of vodka, a bottle of Archers, plus lots of cocktails. Tristan and Anne took some photos at the table.
Tristan went to see his idol DJ Dave Pearce in the DJ booth, and the rest of us went on the dance floor.
I danced a lot with Amelie, and she was a great dancer and fun to be with. It's a good club with a good atmosphere. The dance tunes the DJ's play are spot on. The lights and laser effects are great to see.
DJ Dave Pearce did his set, and Tristan was in his element, and so was the crowd on the dance floor, everyone was buzzing and were all in high spirits.
We later headed up back to the VIP area. Tristan waited for DJ Dave Pearce to come into the VIP area. When Dave entered Tristan went up to him and got his autograph for himself and for me. We also had some more photos taken with Dave.
Dave remembered me, as he had met me twice before, once winning a competition to be VIPs in Tramps in Tenerife, and also once before as VIPs in the MOS. So it was a bit stupid of me to introduce myself to him, as he already knows me, which Tristan reminded me after I did that. Then we had a few more drinks at our table, and we hit the dance floor again after that. Tristan took some more photos on the dance floor. I look a little wasted by then in the photos, as too much alcohol does not agree with me.
We stayed there until about 5am in the morning, then we made our way out of the club. Tristan bought a few souvenirs for himself, like the new Dave Pearce CD and other bits and pieces. Outside the club we split into two groups again to get in two taxis. Unfortunately for me and Amelie, we got an idiot for a taxi driver. He went the long way round, and he dropped us by the delivery loading bay of Waterloo, and not near an entrance to the station. Me and Amelie were a little drunk by then, so we ended up walking the wrong way towards the delivery loading bay entrance. We later realised that we could not get into the station that way. Amelie had a bit of a tantrum, as she was annoyed the taxi driver charged us £10 and dropped us off at the wrong place. She swore and cursed in Spanish, as her Spanish is better than her English. We walked back towards the main road. I called Tristan on my mobile and he told me that the Guildford train was there waiting to leave in Waterloo station. So me and Amelie ran down the road to where we thought the entrance should be, and we eventually saw it in the distance. Amelie was cursing in Spanish whilst running all the way to the Waterloo station entrance, which I found amusing. We ran up the steps, into the station and to where our platform was. The station guard was about to blow his whistle and the train was about to go, but luckily Tristan stopped the train guard. Me and Amelie got on the train just in time. We all sat together on the train. Some of us fell asleep. Tristan thought it was funny to take photos of us all in this drunken sleepy state. I would have put a few of these photos on this blog, but Tristan sadly deleted them off his mobile. The train took a long time getting back to Guildford, as it stopped at every station on the way there. When the train stopped at Guildford, we all got off it. Tristan and his crowd went to catch a taxi back to his girlfriend's place, so I said goodbye to them, and I thanked Tristan for a fun night out. I was a bit crafty, as I said to Amelie that I couldn't afford a taxi back home, so I asked if it was ok if I stayed at her flat until the next bus was available back home to my village. Me and Amelie walked to her flat and I slept at her place for a few hours. I was hoping things would progress between me and Amelie that night, but they sadly didn't, and things never did. I went out with Amelie for a few months after that, but we were just friends, and no more. She is now returning back to France later this month, so maybe it was for the best that things did not progress further than friendship, as maybe I would have missed her leaving Guildford. It was another good night out in the Ministry of Sound. I shall go there again in the future!
