To Be Or Not To Be In London...

< Hi-jinks On Hayling Island | Blog | My Visit To The Buddhapadipa Temple In Wimbledon >

On Friday afternoon, I had a meeting in London with an actress, in view of me becoming her agent.

So, I thought to invite my friend Anya to come along to London with me, to make the most of the afternoon there.

I met Anya in Guildford, and we caught the train to Waterloo.

On the way up there, the actress called me from the centre of London, and asked me for a telephone number of a taxi. I told her that there should be lots of taxi's driving around London, which she could stop and get in, or to call 118 118 for a taxi company.

The actress had agreed to meet me in Covent Garden. But when we got there, I called her and she was at the Embankment. Me and Anya were a bit peeved at this. The actress did not make sense when I called her, so I asked Anya to speak to her for me, so we get an idea of whereabouts she exactly was. She was in a café in a park by the Embankment station. It was a good job I had Anya with me, as I would never have found the actress that day.

We caught the underground train to the Embankment.

When we got to the surface again my mobile indicated that I had a voicemail message from the actress. I listened to it and she told me she had enough of London and as she could not get hold of me, she was going home. We were only underground for a short while, she had little patience. I called her back and told her to wait for us.

We entered the park by the Embankment station and found the café. The actress was sitting outside the café with her partner, and she shouted and waved to indicate her presence to us.

Me and Anya introduced ourselves to the actress and her partner. Then we got some food to eat from the café and some hot drinks.

We made conversation with them. I think the guy she was her housemate.

It turned out the actress was not what I expected.

So, because of my first impression of her, I was not keen on becoming her agent.

It was a shame, as she was a nice person. I wished her all the best for the future.

She did gain one possible film role through me though. This was through a Spanish film director and writer who I had met myself with my friend Ian, which was regarding a separate project under our future film company. I later introduced her to him, for a role in the script he gave us. He is interested in casting her in another future film of his.

Anyway, both myself and Anya left all of that behind, to enjoy our afternoon in London. We said our goodbyes to the actress and her partner, and we headed back to Covent Garden.

We had a great time in Covent Garden together watching some of the performers. I took a photo of Anya standing next to a man painted gold, who was pretending to be a statue of some kind.

There was also juggler who was wearing a kilt, balancing on a ladder, and juggling knives at the same time!

After we had watched some of the street performers, we then checked out some of the shops around Covent Garden. We spent a long time in one shop which Anya enjoyed, they sold different types of perfumes and girly things, it was fun to smell everything and test out things in there like the bath bombs. I then found a Thornton's, so I bought us some nice sweets to eat and share.

A man stopped me who was walking round selling roses, so I bought Anya one as a gift.

We then went into a theatre that shows opera in Covent Garden, to see what shows they had on. Anya picked up a program, and I think we will go and see a show there together sometime later this year.

Then we looked inside a toy shop.

Anya suggested we go to the Victoria and Albert museum. So we went in there. It was a great museum; we enjoyed the various exhibitions, especially the fashion one, the shop, and the café.

We then left the museum and headed back home.

I had a good day out in London.
